Friday's P.R.I.D.E Challenge- The memory test (Your Homework this week!)

Good afternoon Room 12 students,
On Friday will be a very important P.R.I.D.E challenge. A memory test!
You will be shown an image, and all you need to do is choose which identify the label that should be with the image.
Even better, you get to see the answers first!
Underneath this writing, you will see twenty pictures, with a label saying what each is.
Your task is to memorise the label for each picture. There will be a few for you to pick from on Friday during the challenge.
There will be one fern dollar per correct question, BUT there will be a $50 bonus for anyone who can get every single one correct!

Here are the images and labels.

What do you think it is?

A selection of sand grains. (Gary Greenberg)

Lots of different jobs use a special tool called a Microscope. It is a bit like a magnifying glass, but much much much stronger. It can see things that people's eyes can't.
Scientists use them to study items, like diseases, animals, and many other things.

Here is a picture of something when it is put under the microscope.
Leave a comment with your best guess of what it might be.

Even though all of these items look a little different from each other, to the naked eye, they all look the same!

Mrs Love feels proud

Last week was the first time Room 12 had met with their buddy class.
Before we did, we discussed being a good role model, and how to be a great reading buddy.
The students chose a book from the library very carefully and had to be sure that their book wsa suitable for its audience, a 5 year old student.
I was so impressed with the effort of all of the students. They all selected a buddy nicely, found a quiet area, and did their very best with reading to them.
I am very proud of all of you Room 12.

Mya Wallace: Week 9 Postcard Recipent

Well done to Mya, who received the Postcard this week.
Mya is always spectacularly well behaved, and her school work always shows great improvement.
She gives her personal best, and takes responsibility for herself and others.
Mya is always honest, and has a fabulous attitude.
All of her classmates agreed that she was a very deserving recipient.
Awesome work Mya.

Week 9 Pride Challenge

This week's P.R.I.D.E challenge involved using Tangrams.
Each pair of students were given the same 7 plastic shapes, and asked to use all of them to create a different shape. This proved to be very challenging, and the students had to show determination and co-operation to continue to use the shapes.
Amazingly, very few students gave up.
There was one outstanding team who managed to work together and achieve success for both shapes. Well done to George and Bodie.
Awesome work this afternoon boys, and great determination to the rest of Room 12.

Room 12 shows Parkvale Pride

Yesterday Room 12 spent just five minutes tidying up on the field. This is such a nice thing to do, and definitely shows Parkvale Pride. Well done!
